Como sabrán algunos de ustedes, ademas de Ingeniero Civil soy amante de las Artes Visuales, la Fotografía y la Producción digital de video. Por eso hoy he querido traerles algunos videos que guardo entre mis favoritos.

Se trata de un material audiovisual producido por algunos artistas alrededor del mundo y que sin duda alguna necesitaron de los conocimientos de la Topográfia o Geología para completar sus proyectos.

Desde percepciones simples, pasando por anuncios publicitarios, hasta videos cargados de un eclecticismo abstracto podrán deleitarse y elegir su favorito.

Jabil may well be one of the largest companies you’ve not heard of, though the 45-year-old $18B tech giant is also the name behind 250 of the best brands on the planet. To generate more awareness of its brand the manufacturer developed Blue Sky Center, the 100,000-square-foot design and demo facility in San Jose, CA, which highlights Jabil’s innovations through product and experiences.

One such experience created through Leviathan’s collaboration with Jabil-subsidiary Radius: a physical diorama paired with interactive digital content. Using 3D printed buildings and machine-milled topography plus projected content, the installation was conceived as an in-the-round virtual civic planner that would demonstrate the interconnected aspects of a future city. Multiple tablets were added to display supplemental material and allow control of various Internet-of-Things content scenarios.

Lexus “Topographical” was produced to introduce Lexus’ new GX SUV model. The creative idea was to replace the environment with a computer generated topographical elevation map. The live action was shot in the desert mountains near Los Angeles using a helicopter.

Lexus “Topographical” was created by first tracking the live action footage using Boujou. The information generated by Boujou was then imported into 3dsmax where the point data was modeled into geometry. This geometry was texture mapped using topographical map information and rendered out in various passes consisting of elevation lines, roads, lakes, rivers, numericals, map icons and symbols, all of which were then composited together in Combustion. There was a considerable amount of masking which had to be done for the vehicle, as in some shots only the car is live action and the environment has been completely replaced with CGI.

This spot was modeled and animated with 3D Studio MAX, rendered with Scanline and VRay 1.09, and composited with After Effects and Combustion. Tracking was produced with Boujou.
